We'am.. a joy after a long wait

2021-02-28

"When my younger brothers used to ask my mother, 'when are you going to buy our bags?' she would reply 'tomorrow.. after tomorrow'.

I realized that she did not have enough money to buy them, but she was deluding them and did not want to break their hearts", says Wiam Amin Saleh, a student in the eighth grade. Wiam was displaced with her family from Taiz governorate to the city of Al-Ghaydah - Al-Mahra governorate, after their patience ran out due to the repeated bombings and the arrival of military fights near their home in Taiz.

"When we arrived at Al-Mahra, we didn't know anyone their. We suffered a lot at everything. No one from our acquaintances facilitates our daily life, and we had no source of income, my mother can hardly provide for food, drink and treatment", she said with an accent of great suffering.

Wiam adds,"We continued our study with old supplies and shabby bags, hoping that one day my mother would be able to meet our needs, but unfortunately she could not." We'am continued, "After a long wait, the Center's project came to distribute the school bag. Thank God, my brothers and I were given a school bag. That day was a holiday for us."

The project represented a sign of hope, relief for thousands of vulnerable families, and created a sense of equality in the children with their fellows.
