Background
BCHR is a leading national non-governmental humanitarian agency with a global mission to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities. BCHR is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to provide health, nutrition, food security and protection services as a humanitarian response to the escalating socio-economic situation in Yemen since 2015.

Project Overview
The Strengthening Institutional and Economic Resilience in Yemen (SIERY) project aims to support smallholders and SMEs in Yemen by enhancing their value chain development, technical, financial, and business skills, and providing access to finance. This TOR outlines the roles and responsibilities of the Technical Advisors, specifically the Value Chain Development Advisor and the Capacity Building and Entrepreneurship Development Advisor.

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Advisor Entrepreneurship Development to provide technical assistance and support to farmers, agribusinesses, and other stakeholders in in the Al Madinah and Al Wadi districts of Marib Governorate. The Advisor will play a critical role in providing advice and training to farmers, improving agricultural productivity, enhancing market access, and promoting sustainable and inclusive Business Advisor Entrepreneurship Development.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical capabilities:
• Digital technologies and software: The ability to use technological tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications that help the work succeed in the best advanced way.

2. Ability to build a network of relationships:
- Partnerships and collaboration: A good Advisor will be able to facilitate collaboration between entrepreneurs and form distinct collective projects.

3. Familiarity with the local culture and economic environment:
- Knowledge of the local market: A good knowledge of the local market, the opportunities available and the problems that entrepreneurs in the region may face is of utmost importance.
- Economic challenges: A deep understanding of the economic challenges and legislation related to the private sector in the region can be useful in guiding entrepreneurs in line with the economic environment.

4. Academic Qualifications:
Degree in Entrepreneurship or Business Administration: It is preferable for the Advisor to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, or any related major.
Accredited training courses: Certificates in areas such as strategic planning, marketing, finance, and project management may be useful, in addition to specialized courses in entrepreneurship.

5. Practical experience:
• Practical experience in entrepreneurship: It is preferable that the Advisor has practical experience in starting and managing successful entrepreneurial projects.
• Experience in providing consulting: The Advisor must have previous experience in providing entrepreneurship consulting to institutions or individuals. Experience in providing actual solutions to entrepreneurship problems may be an indicator of his ability to deal with field challenges.
• Experience in training and empowering entrepreneurs: The Advisor who has experience in training entrepreneurs or teams related to small and medium enterprises.

6. Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in planning skills: The Advisor must be able to develop strategic plans that help entrepreneurs set clear goals and achieve them in a tangible way.
• Project Management: Must have the ability to successfully manage projects from start to finish, ensuring budget, schedule, and team performance.
• Marketing and Promotion: Possess deep knowledge of digital and traditional marketing strategies, as well as promote products and services in innovative ways.
• Finance and Investment Management: Must be familiar with how to obtain financing, manage budgets, and analyze the financial feasibility of small and medium projects.

7. Personal Skills:
• Ability to communicate effectively: The Advisor must have high communication skills and the ability to transfer knowledge and information in clear and simplified ways to beneficiaries.
• Ability to motivate and inspire: Since entrepreneurship requires continuous motivation, the Advisor must be able to motivate entrepreneurs and provide psychological and practical support at the appropriate time.
• Flexibility and adaptability: The ability to adapt to different work environments and address the challenges that entrepreneurs may face at different stages of their projects.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems: The Advisor must have analytical skills that help him identify problems, analyze their causes, and provide practical solutions.

8. Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Measuring the results of consultations: The Advisor must be able to set clear criteria to measure the success of the consultations and ensure that the objectives have been achieved.
- Flexibility in adjustments: A good Advisor must be able to adjust his strategies based on feedback and changing results.

9. Pledge of confidentiality:
- Commitment to professional confidentiality: It is important for the Advisor to commit to maintaining the confidentiality of the information he learns while working with entrepreneurs.
